Newly Restored to a high standard with Raised Ends, Metal Buttons, Steel Reeds and sound effects.

A nicely restored Lachenal 62 key MacCann Duet with Black Raised ends, metal buttons and steel reeds

As you will no doubt be aware McCann Duet concertinas were designed to play a melody along with an accompaniment or they are capable of playing multiple parts together at the same time.

The first successful design for a Duet concertina was patented in 1884 by a performer, “Professor” John Hill Maccann. Lachenal and Wheatstone did have duet concertina designs but with the help of Lachenal MacCann helped his system become the popular choice up until the second world war.

This wonderful instrument survives and plays today as well as it did back then. You have an orchestra in your hands with the ability to play the tune and the accompaniment on the one instrument. This one has two sound effect buttons which were common in music hall days

You can try this before you buy as it's on display in our showroom YO51 9QQ.

But please arrange an appointment to see it so you can check before you travel as stock is changing daily
